Special Match Metrics – Effort Rate & Expected Goals

Updated over 3 weeks ago

In PlayerDex, apart from the classic stats, you can also see two special metrics that give you a deeper insight into your own performance and your team’s overall game.

💪 Effort Rate

This shows how much effort you needed to put in to achieve the performance recorded in your Match Report.

Think of it like an “energy meter” 🔋 – the higher it is, the more intensity and strength you gave during the match.

With Effort Rate, you can understand:

  • How much energy you spent to deliver your performance.

  • Whether some matches required more or less effort from you.

  • If your training is paying off.

🎯 Expected Goals (xG)

This shows how many goals your team should have scored or conceded based on the chances created during the match.

It’s not about the final score but about the quality of the opportunities.

For example:

  • If your team had many clear chances but didn’t score 🥅, the xG will be high.

  • If you scored from a very difficult shot 🎯, the xG might be low since the chance of scoring was small.

This helps you understand:

  • Whether the team was unlucky or inefficient.

  • The offensive and defensive picture beyond the scoreboard.

  • Where improvements are needed in finishing.
